This chapter explains the most important functions for operating the bluetronix software. The software is completely pre-installed and includes a ready-made homepage. You can start editing your website right away.

The editing mode – login to the CMS

Open Internet Explorer and go to your website. You can find the domain name in your access data, for example www.yourdomain.de .

In the browser address bar, type after the domain name /to edit one, for example www.yourdomain.de/edit .

In the login window, enter your username and password and confirm with Log in .

Enter the data exactly as in the access data. Upper and lower case letters are distinguished.

After logging in correctly, the editing mode opens. In the upper part is the so-called main menu, in the lower part your website is loaded in edit mode.

The edit buttons

In editing mode, the homepage has the so-called edit buttons. These make it easier to access various functions. This means you can navigate your website as usual and always edit what you are currently seeing.

If you move the mouse pointer over a button, you will receive further information, for example the file name of the page with the edit button.

In the following example, the "Home" page is to be edited. Navigate to the "Home" page by clicking on Home . To edit the page, click in the top right corner To edit .

The editor has word processing as well as web-specific functions. You can write text, design it or copy it from other word processing programs.

As usual in word processing, write a sample text or insert an image. Then click to save the page Save on computer Symbol. The page is saved and can now be read by your visitors on the Internet. A detailed description of the editor functions can be found in the chapter The homepage editor .

Edit record

You can use the edit buttons to change data records just as easily, for example in the shop system, on the news page or in the guest book. In this example, an entry on the news page is to be changed. To do this, navigate to the news page by clicking on news page .

To edit the contents of a record, click in the top left corner   Edit record Symbol.

For example, change the headline or swap the image and then click Save on computer . Check the result on the homepage.

Proceed in the same way with the functions   Insert new record or.

  delete dataset .

Edit Menu - Change the navigation

The following example shows how to add another menu item to the navigation. In editing mode, as with all dynamic menus, in the top left corner the   Edit menu button displayed.

Click on to open the menu editor   Edit menu .

In the example, a new menu item with the name "Contact" is to be created below the "News page" navigation point. To do this, click on the point news page and on the icon Insert point below . Click in the new field and enter the name of the menu item, for example "Contact". Finally click on "Save".

In the standard setting, the pages of new menu items are created automatically. Linking and creating the associated page is not necessary.

Close the menu editor and click on the newly created menu item "Contact" on your homepage. Instructions for creating and designing a menu can be found in the chapter dynamic menus .

Change layout - load ready-made layout

Depending on the web package, additional ready-made layouts are included in the software. Click on the main menu *  Layout -> Design Templates .

Click on the desired layout and confirm with layout store . Close the layout window and check the result on your homepage.

For an easy way to customize the layout, see *  Layout -> Style Assistant . Here you can easily change colors, images and background images of the layout.

The bluetronix software includes a comprehensive system for creating and designing the layout. Different layouts on a homepage, for example for different areas or the shop system, are possible. A full one CSS editor , with which objects can be extensively described even without CSS programming knowledge, is included. For more information on creating a layout, see the chapter Create your own layout .

Shifted display - screen resolution

With a screen resolution of 120 dpi or if the font size settings in the browser are changed, the display may shift. In order to use the bluetronix software optimally, you can go to the main menu under   Tools -> Editor Font Size adjust the font size.
